How To Get Past The Garden Ghost With Leaves On His Eyes Luigi's Mansion

This portion of the Luigi's Mansion 3 guide features the Garden Suites Walkthrough and the Garden Suites gem locations. It ends with tips and tricks for how to beat the gardener boss at the end of the area. Puzzle solutions for using the spinning blade, getting past the large watermelon, dealing with the purple mushroom room, and more are included.

The Garden Suites is one of the most mysterious floors yet. It's covered in leaves, many of which can be vacuumed to reveal entryways and doors. A spinning saw blade will come in handy for literally cutting through obstacles. And remember, if you're in trouble, Gooigi can help you out.

Below are the walkthrough sections and objectives. Please note we may have added a few objectives ourselves to indicate the steps you need to take to complete the main objective.

Garden Suites Gems

You can collect all the Garden Suites Gems on your first visit. All gem locations will be written in a blue box so scroll through for them to see what you're missing or scroll past them if you'd rather discover the answer to those puzzles yourself.

Explore the Garden Suites

Take the elevator to the 7th floor and follow the path leading into the Garden Suites.

Walk up and interact with the elevator button. Of course, there's no way it'd be that easy so take the stairs after that.

At the end of the stairs, take the blue branch-like paths to the bac and towards the edge of the leaf.

Suck up this vine and swing on it to the other side. Release to land.

To get across, suck up the vine and use it to swing to the other side.

Pull on the plant to move it out of the way. Head into the room on the right. It's overrun with leaves and unbloomed flowers.

Vacuum the leaves off the door so you can enter the room ahead. You'll find yourself in a bathroom overrun by piles of pink petals.

Continue to the left, clearing the leaves that are blocking the huge hole in the wall. Keep moving up the stairs and into the room filled with Ivy.

Get past the pineapples

Head up the stairs but watch out for the pineapples bouncing down the stairs. Make sure you're standing directly next to where the pineapple lands so that it will arc over you. When you get to the top pull the leafy cord so destroy the plant.

Avoid the pineapples and suction shot the plant's roots at the top of the stairs to move forward.

Destroy the vine

Venture into the hole in the wall. Suction shot the heavy, trash can and slam this into the vine-covered toilet. Head out and continue up the stairs.

Use this trashcan with a suction shot to destroy the toilet in this bathroom. Vacuum up the vine to clear the path.

Dodge more pineapples

This time 2 pineapples will be bouncing down the stairs. Make sure you're always next to them when they hit the stairs. This means you'll have to let one hit and then walk up to where the second one is going to hit. Then pull the vine cord to destroy the plant.

Let the two pineapples come down the stairs once or twice. Look at where the juices are on the stairs to avoid them. Vacuum up the roots like before.

Destroy and escape from the vine

In the next room, pick up the buzzsaw to destroy the vine blocking the door. When you try and go through the door, a vine will burst through the wall and capture you.

Vacuum up the buzz saw in this room and use it against the vine to free the captured Luigi/Gooigi.

To break free of it use Luigi/Gooigi (whoever is free) to suck up the buzzsaw. Walk the saw over to the vine and cut it to free whoever is captured.

How to move the big watermelon

Have Luigi and Gooigi suction shot the big watermelon and SMASH IT.

Go through the door and you'll end up in a room full of watermelons. Have both Luigi and Gooigi use a suction shot to destroy the giant watermelon blocking the exit.

Unravel your path

As soon as you exit you'll need to unravel the leafy branch. Do this by blowing on it with the poltergust vacuum. Repeat this until you reach the next door, leading to the Mushroom suite.

Blow on these fern leaves to make a path.

When you reach the top of the blue branches vacuum the vine to cross to the other side.

The door is blocked so keep moving to the stairs.

Mushroom Suite Puzzle Solution

Conveniently, after a small cutscene there will be an opening in the wall that lets you enter the mushroom suite.

In the mushroom suite, vacuum the cart with the purple mushroom on it. So that the mushroom is right next to the aqua-colored branch.

Bring the wagon to this platform and use a burst move on it to get to the platform above.

Walk on the aqua-colored branch and then directly onto the mushroom. Use the burst to jump on the mushroom to reach the level above.

Repeat this with the next mushroom to reach an even higher level.

Vacuum this leaf off the wall to find the door.

Vacuum the giant leaf off the wall. Head through the door. Vacuum up the rolled-up branch.

Open the venus fly trap

Head across, use the vine to cross the gap. Continue this pattern until you reach the venus fly trap.

Position Luigi and Gooigi on either side of the fly trap and suction shot it to open it.

To open the venus fly trap have Luigi suction shot/pull on one side and the Gooigi do it on the other. Then interact with the edge of the venus fly trap to slide back down.

How to beat the gardener

Snack time!

Lure the gardener into having the plant attack the hard, glowing plants.

With the plant stuck, grab the buzzsaw and cut off the plant.

The gardener's plant will do a series of attacks. when it winds up, stand behind a gourd for it to latch on. Use the buzzsaw (near the tree) to cut the plant's stem and stun the gardener with the strobulb to stun him.

Now you can stun and vacuum the gardener.

Rinse and repeat until he's captured.

Recover the Elevator Button Stolen by the Plant

Vacuum up the canister and walk it over to the patch of dirt to grow the plant.

Water your plants to grow big and tall. Climb up the plant to get the button.

Once the plant is big and tall, climb the ladder to get the elevator button.

Install the Button in the Elevator

Oh yeah!

Grab the elevator button and return to the elevator. Now you're free to take the elevator to the next area, 8th floor - Paranormal Productions.
